| Personally I find it disconcerting that when I install new software, I often get additional
baggage running in my system tray or background services installed without any disclosure at all.
These programs are often installed by niche software and major corporations and seems to be
a common industry practice.
HoodCheck was developed by myself as a way of trying to verify the integrity of the programs
I had running on my computer. Because of the large number of legitimate processes, it was
difficult to determine what programs might be suspect.
HoodCheck provides a free service to statistically compare what is running on your computer
with 1000's of other computers. The more people who run it, the more valuable the information
becomes. |
